Bangladesh

BangladeshDhaka’s 700 mosques are a solid tastement of its long and colorful history. The exact date of its foundation isn’t know but Vikrampur, in the neighborhood of modern Dhaka, became the capital of Bengal in the seventh century as well as administrative center of the Pala and Chandra Dynasties.

A land of unspoiled beauty, rich cultural heritage and exotic charm, Bangladesh is a veritable tourists paradise, a break from the tourist-infested usual destination. Numerous serpentine rivers including the three of the world’s mightiest, never ending green of the paddy fields and tea gardens the panorama of hills, lakes and forests, the world’s longest natural sea beach and above all, smiling welcome of a hospitable nation.

The population of Bangladesh is 98,464 million is predominantly Muslim. The national language is Bengali; English is widely spoken and understood.

CLIMATE
Bangladesh has three seasons; Summer (March – May), Monsoon (June – Oct) and Winter (Nov – Feb). Towards the end of summer and during the monsoon season the annual rainfall varies from 1270mm in the west to 2540mm – 5080mm in the north-east. The rainless winter months are the most pleasant when the average temperature is 17 degree C.

ENTRY FORMALITIES
All visitors require a valid passport. No visa is required for citizens of commonwealth countries except India, UK, Australia and Sri Lanka. For citizens of South Korea, Japan and Yugoslavia, no visa is required for 90 days and for citizens of Canada, UK, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Holland, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Federal Republic of Germany, Luxemburg, Belgium, Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Nepal who have return air tickets, no Visa is required for 7 days.

There’s plenty to see amongst the colorful bustle of the ancient city and its surrounding areas.

Dhaka – Take a shower of masses
Visit the old part of the city and enjoy the colorful rickshaw, people at work and the mixture of different type of transport. Visit the Sadarghat river front. Ahsan Manzil the palace of the Nawabs of Dhaka. Lalbagh Fort, the Hindu street – Shankhari Paty, Dhakeswori Temple and the parliament building. The master piece of architects.

Savar & Dhamrai
Visit the National monument built in memory of the freedom fighters of the war of Independence. Then visit the brass village of Dhamrai.

Sonargaon
The old capital of the independent Sultan of Bengal, was famous for its trade and commerce till 1600 AD when Dhaka become the Capital of Bengal. You can visit the city’s runs and the Folk arts and crafts Museum.

Mainamati
The dimpled hull range in Comilla named as Lalmai-Mainamati range was the center for Buddhist culture from 8 – 12 century. There are about 50 ruins in the area. Visit the ruins of Mainamati Buddhist Vihar and some other sites.

Rangamati
A hill town rises from the crystal blue water of the Kaptai Lake with a population of multi hill tribes. The Kaptai lake with its splendid setting of lush landscape and scenic grandeur provides ideal retreat for visitors. A cruise in the lake is breath-taking and the blue water welcomes you for a swim. You can dress yourself with tribal dresses. Visit the colorful tribal bazars and the people.

Cox’s Bazar
The longest sea beach of fine sand and the shark free gentle slope will make bath in the beach enjoyable. Visit the Burmese market and the interesting fish harbor. Cruise to near by island of Moheshkhali. The area has an influence of Burmese culture and you can find many tribal people.

Sundarbans
The Sunderbans is a low lying premetive deltic tidal forest, with an area of 1000 sq km of which 5770 sq km is in Bangladesh. The mangrove forest of Sunderbans is an unique place on earth for its vastness and diverse living organism. Sunderbans known as the habitat of the Royal Bengal Tigers.

The magnificent forest is accessible by water, as it has a complex network of rivers, canals and cracks.

Paddle Steamer
Be on the paddle steamer and take the feeling of the last century. Take a journey through several rivers and see the river life and painting like landscape of the evergreen countryside. The trip starts from Dhaka travels through different areas and ends at Khulna. This wonderful journey can be a memorable one.

North Bengal
This area is famous for the historic ancient city of 3BC. Ruins of ancient Buddhist settlement at Paharpur, early Muslim settlement at Gour, palace of Kings at Puthia and Natore, the unique terracotta of Kantajee’s Hindu temple and the Varendra Research Museum, the richest collection of Blackstone statues.

Itinerary:

Dhaka Stopover

Take a shower of the masses.

Day 01: After arrival at Zia International Airport (ZIA), meet our representative and transfer to Hotel. Take a hour of the old and the new Dhaka and take a shower of the masses. 
Day 02: Your tour of the city continues, as you enjoy the colorful Rickshaws, then drive to the old capital of Independent Sultans of Bengal-Sonargaon. 
Day 03: Browse through the city areas till final departure.

Around the Capital

Dhaka – Savar – Sonargaon – Comilla – Kolakopa – Dhaka
Day 01: After arrival at Zia International Airport (ZIA), meet our representative and transfer to Hotel. 

Day 02: Visit to the places of interest in the old and the new parts of the city and visit the Martyrs Memorial at Savar. Overnight in Dhaka. 

Day 03: Excursion to Sonargaon (27 km from Dhaka), the capital of the Independent Sultans of Bengal and the Folkart museum. Drive 100 km from Dhaka to Comila to see the ruins of Mainamati Buddhist Monastery of 8 – 12 Century A.D. the only seventeen tower Jagannath Temple in Bangladesh and the World War II Cemetery. Overnight in Dhaka. 

Day 04: Excursion: Cruise to Kolakopa, a township in the rural Bangladesh with interesting old building and visit the Khelaramdata Kuthibari, an unique architectural pattern of the Bengali style.

Sundarban’s Safari
Dhaka Jessore – Khulna – Mongla – Sunderbans – Bagerhat – Dhaka World Heritage Site
Day 01: Leave in the afternoon flight for Jessore. From there drive to Khulna and transfer to Hotel. 

Day 02: Early morning: leave for Mongla Port. Arrive and board on motor launch. Strt your journey for the world’s largest mangrove forest known as the Sunderbans. After 8 – 10 hours cruise arrive to Kokta situated at the southern point of the forest. Overnight on boatrd at the forest. 

Day 03: You will spend the day being involved in different activities in the forest e.g. walking, passing through the narrow and small creeks on small country boat to feel the forest. Also there will be a trip by a boat to the neighboring islands and if you are adventurous enough you can even climb the watch tower waiting for the tiger to show up at night 

Day 04: Early morning leave Kokta and arrive at Mongla port. Overnight at Khulna.

Day 05: Early morning, drive to Jessore airport. Arrive Dhaka and transfer to Hotel.

Season – September to April

Buddhist Tour
Day 01: Drive to Chittagong (264 km) on way visit the ruins of a Buddhist monastery at Mainamati museum and other interesting ruins at Comilla enroute Sonargaon the old capital of Bengal. 

Day 02: Visit the Buddhist temple in Chittagong. Afternoon drive to Rangmati, the hill town and a place of Buddhist culture. 

Day 03: Visit the Buddhist Khyang and the Tribal Kings place. Cruise in the crystal water of Kaptai lake. 

Day 04: Drive to Cox’s Bazar via Bandarban. Transfer to Hotel. 

Day 05: Cruise to Moheskhali island and visit the Buddhist temple and the Rakhine tribal people. Evening free.
